The three Ambassadors of Sweden, Norway and Finland hosted the opening of the Nordic Spirit in Business and Culture events in Lagos, on Thursday February 23rd.
The events in the Lagos’ Radisson Blu hotel took place between February 23rd and 25th. The Radisson Blu itself is a brand new masterpiece of Nordic design.
The series of events was opened by the Honorable Governor of Lagos, H.E. Babatunde Raji Fashola. The successful opening reception was attended by numerous V.I.Ps. During the evening, representatives of Nordic and Nigerian companies displayed their brands and know-how. Promotion of Nordic business is the core of the events.
The special invitees to the many receptions will enjoy Nordic delicacies from Finland, Norway and Sweden, prepared by a well-known Swedish chef, Martin Hansen. The events, all taking place in the Radisson Blu hotel, include a photo exhibition by the award-winning photographer Anders Ryman, Nordic poetry, fun for families and movies.
The Nordic Fashion Show will be among the highlights of the events. The latest designs of over 10 top-designers from Norway, Sweden and Finland will be displayed by beautiful Nigerian models on the catwalk, on Friday-evening starting at 9 pm. On Saturday-evening, the famous pianist from Norway, Geir Henning Braaten, the opera singer Ingrid Vetlesen and the Philharmonic Company will perform in the Muson art center for invited guests.
Sweden, Norway and Finland have their Embassies in Abuja. The three Nordic countries are actively promoting their top companies to thrive on the Nigerian market. Norway, Sweden and Finland are well known as among the most competitive countries in the world, with top-companies such as Nokia, Wärtsilä, ABB, Statoil, Ericsson, Seadrill, Fred Olsen Production, BW Offshore, Tetra Pak, Atlas Copco, GAC, Volvo, Sandvik and of course Radisson Blu already present on the Nigerian market. These companies also sponsor the events, along with the companies Setraco, Enterprise Transport & Logistics Ltd, Skye Bank and Access Bank.
