A number of Norwegian companies are active in Rivers State; Port Harcourt and offshore. Ambassador Jens-Petter Kjemprud therefore last week visited Port Harcourt and met with Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike. The two discussed ongoing activities and possible future cooperation and Norwegian investments in Rivers State, mainly related to the maritime sector.
Governor Wike and the ambassador also attended the official commissioning of the “landship” MV Rivers Pride and the foundation stone laying of a 200 cadets accommodation block at the Charkin Maritime and Offshore Safety Centre.
The centre is a fully fledged maritime and safety centre with hi-tech equipment delivered from Norwegian companies Kongsberg Maritime and Poseidon.
